Pop Tab Collections

Collecting pop tabs
from aluminum cans teaches kids, as well as adults, about philanthropy and the importance of recycling. Our local recycling center weighs the collected tabs and presents a check for the value of the tabs - helping to raise much-needed funds to support families in the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte!

Collect pop tabs in containers you create yourself- our volunteers have used everything from simple plastic bags to elaborate custom-made house-shaped containers! Use your imagination to create your own collection container-and share your ideas with us! We'd love to see photos of your creative pop tab collection house! Let your friends and family know you are collecting tabs, and ask them to save theirs, too.

To deliver the tabs, you have many options. If you live in the Charlotte area and have time, please deliver your tabs directly to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte at 1613 E Morehead Street! Our volunteers are able to accept donations daily between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm.

We are fortunate to have the help of our North Carolina American Legion Posts in our pop tab program! Once you've collected the tabs and are ready to turn them in, you can also contact your local American Legion Post. In Mecklenburg County, please contact Post 235 at 704-814-4962 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

You can also take your tabs directly to your local recycling center - in Charlotte, we recommend the Wise Recycling Center located at 4933 Brookshire Blvd!
