The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte will provide a much-needed resource for our rapidly growing metropolitan area. In the words of long time Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory "Nobody needs to convince me that Charlotte needs a Ronald McDonald House. My only question is why don't we have one already?"
Whether recruited or elected, many non-profit board members begin their tenure with uncertainty as to how they should serve the organization. Our board will always be compromised of precedent setting individuals driven by heart, purpose and intelligence. In our organization, tenures will range from 2-4 years.
Our Board is responsible for the highest level of decision-making and legal authority in an organization. By law, it is ultimately accountable for, and has authority over, the organization's resources and activities. The board articulates and communicates the organization's vision to the membership and community. Through policy, the board defines the parameters within which the organization will carry out its work.
