Rewarding Opportunities to Get Involved
Thank you for your interest in supporting the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. Our volunteer program has opportunities for groups, families and for individuals wishing to give back!
House Operations Volunteer
Time Commitment: one 3-hour shift per month, minimum
This role is for individual volunteers, aged 18 or older, who wish to take on a leadership-level role in the House. House Ops volunteers work the front desk, answer phones, set up guest rooms, assist with cleaning, give tours, assist guests and more. This opportunity requires a one year commitment to our House.
THERE WILL BE NO MEETING ON WEDNESDAY MAY 9TH, AS WE WILL BE CELEBRATING THE HOUSE BIRTHDAY!
Interest meetings for the House Operations Volunteer position are held every Tuesday at 6 pm and every Wednesday at 10 am at the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. No RSVP is required - simply come to the House (1613 E Morehead Street) Wednesday and join us!
Opportunities for Individuals, Groups and Teams
Meal Preparation Team
Time Commitment: 2-4 hours. Late afternoon/evenings for dinner, weekday mornings for brunch
Great for groups! Meal teams plan a menu, purchase their ingredients and then bring all supplies to the House to cook dinner or brunch for families staying in the House. Meal teams should have no more than 12 people total in the kitchen. Children must be 12 or older to participate and must be supervised at all times. Cookie Crew
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours. Mid-mornings only.
Great for family or friends! Cookie crews plan a baked treat (cookies, brownies, snack bars, muffins, etc), purchase supplies and come to the House during the midday hours to make the House smell warm and welcoming. Cookie crews should have no more than 5 members. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. A minimum of one adult for every 3 children is required. Bingo Night Mondays/ Craft Night Wednesdays
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours. Evenings only.
Groups of 2-3 can come in and share some evening fun with our families. Volunteers can collect small prizes and lead guests in playing Bingo on Mondays, or bring supplies and ideas for arts and crafts or other interactive activities on Wednesdays. Door Décor & Table Toppers
Time Commitment: 1-2 hours. Done at home and brought to the House.
Great for kids! Our House has 28 guest room doors, and more than 15 tables in the dining room and libraries. Crafty people can create beautiful, welcoming decorations for doors or centerpieces for our dining tables!
Collections
Time Commitment: varies
Great for schools, faith communities, businesses and more! The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte is in constant need of items for our House. Whether you choose to collect pop tabs, pennies for playtime or wish list items.
