Young Professionals Society

Who We Are

The Young Professionals Society is a group of individuals, aged 22-39, who volunteer their time, share their talents, and contribute financially to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte. Members perform valuable services within the House, host and attend fundraising events, and enjoy social and business networking opportunities.

The YPS is composed of an Executive Board and a General Membership. The General Membership meets on the first Tuesday of each quarter.  YPS Members donate at least 12 hours of service to the House per year.  YPS Member dues are $85 per year, the same amount as it costs the House to host one family for one night.  Click here to view our leaders!

What We Do

From making welcome bags for RMH families, hosting birthday parties for RMH children, or volunteering at fundraising events held to support the RMH, YPS members are consistently engaged in the Charlotte RMH community.  In fact, the YPS participates in an average of 6 activities per month.  In addition, YPS will hold its signature event in February of each year, the Red Tie Gala to benefit RMH of Charlotte.

The YPS has four committees:

  • The Service Committee facilitates and promotes volunteer opportunities for YPS members both in the Ronald McDonald House and the larger Charlotte community.
  • The Social Committee plans social and philanthropic events for the YPS.
  • The Development Committee builds financial and in-kind support for RMH.  The Development Committee develops and fosters relationships with local businesses, organizations and individuals through special events and one-on-one meetings.
  • The Membership Committee maintains and develops the YPS membership base to keep current members engaged and to recruit new members.

The YPS is currently accepting new members.  The YPS requires that members donate 12 hours of service (1 hour per month) and $85 (the per family/per night cost to run the House) to the RMH each year.
