Ronald McDonald House Charities:
Our Global Network

A decade after the first House opened in Philadelphia, Ronald McDonald House Charities was founded to carry out the work of what ultimately has become one of the most far-reaching non-profit agencies in the world. Dedicated in memory of McDonald's founder and children's advocate Ray Kroc, the charity now supports about 300 Ronald McDonald Houses serving more than 10 million families worldwide (www.rmhc.org).

In addition to the Ronald McDonald House, the charitable group supports two additional core programs — the Ronald McDonald Family Room and the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.

Ronald McDonald Family Room
The Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a haven within the hospital for families of critically ill children. Often located just steps away from the neonatal or pediatric intensive care units, family members can rest, reflect or even shower, without leaving their child's side.

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile offers cost-effective medical, dental and health education services to underserved children in rural and urban areas around the US and the world. The goal is to bridge the gap between hospitals and underserved children by traveling into these communities. All Care Mobile services are provided in a 40-foot long, 8-foot wide, state-of-the-art vehicle built specifically for delivering pediatric health care services. Each vehicle includes two patient examination rooms, a laboratory and reception and medical records areas. Within the United States, volunteers also help eligible families enroll in federally assisted health insurance initiatives such as "Insure Kids Now.”

The Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte is proud to share in the mission of our global partner, Ronald McDonald House Charities.
